This Dentist does not know what he is talking about. After reviewing this Youtube video and the comments below the video I thought I have to set the record straight.
First: judging by the clinical pictures, this Dentist, Dr. O, didn’t technically prepare for Veneers on the front teeth. He prepared 3/4 crowns and is calling them veneers.
Second: He is absolutely wrong that by leaving the enamel on the back of the teeth somehow strengthens the tooth/restorations..WRONG
Third: if you look at broad statistics, crowns last longer than veneers. The cost of crowns and veneers are comparable; so why not have the longer lasting restorations.
I would love to see this guy stand in front of a room full of experienced dentists and try to make a case that veneers on the front teeth are better/last longer. He would get laughed off the stage and probably tared and feathered.
Fourth: He is being dishonest by calling these Veneers
Fifth: Those Cerec Milling machines are about $200000.00 a piece. He needs to sell a lot of veneers that don’t last very long to pay for the machines.
